Another New Defibrillator!
Working with St. John Scotland again to provide lifesaving equipment for the village
Published: 27 October 2024
Thornton Community Council have collaborated with St. John Scotland to replace the older Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) at Thornton Public Hall. Our thanks to Thornton Public Hall committee for arranging the fitting of the new cabinet.
The PAD is within a locked cabinet. When an emergency occurs, always dial 999 and ask for the ambulance service who will provide the code for the cabinet if a PAD may be useful in the circumstances and within retrievable distance.
The previous unit had reached the end of its warranty and replacement pads were expensive to buy.
We recently held a basic CPR and PAD training session at Thornton Bowling Club with St. John Scotland. If anyone would like to have future sessions organised, please get in touch.
The British Heart Foundation also offer free online CPR training: Learn CPR in 15 minutes | RevivR | BHF – BHF. Why not take some time to learn this lifesaving skill.
Precise locations of all our PADs can be found on our dedicated defibrillator page: Defibrillators – Thornton Community Council
