Freshen up for train station planter
Our colleague John Laing has donated several hours of his time to freshening up the planter at the entrance to Thornton Railway Station
Published: 24 April 2024
The planter has been in need of some TLC for a while now, braving the elements 365/6 days a year.
John kindly offered to take the task in hand, organising materials and more importantly putting in the graft! Thanks John!
The planter is now ready for some fresh plants.
These small projects are made possible by the community funds available in our area from the owners of local renewable energy installations (wind and solar), and of course people prepared to roll their sleeves up!
If you see something in the village you’d like to improve, funding could be available via the community council, even if you want to tackle it on your own. Check out our local information page for details of micro grants.
There are lots of things like this the community council would like to see improved in the village, but without your help and some community spirit there’s not a lot we can do!
There’s no need to join the community council to lend a hand! If you’d like to give something back to your community, contact us using any of the methods listed on the homepage or join us at our next meeting on 1st May at 7pm in the Bowling Club. Everyone is welcome, free refreshments are provided.
