Help Us Bring New Play Equipment to Thornton Memorial Park
Thornton Community Council is calling on local residents, families, businesses and supporters to help transform Thornton Memorial Park by supporting our new community crowdfunder
Published: 10 October 2026
The existing play equipment in the park has provided years of enjoyment for local children, but much of it has now reached the end of its useful life and requires replacement. We want to create a safe, modern and inclusive play area that can be enjoyed by children of all ages for many years to come.
Thornton Memorial Park sits at the heart of our community and is a place where families meet, children make friends and residents come together to enjoy the outdoors. By investing in new play equipment, we can ensure that future generations continue to benefit from an attractive and welcoming community space.
Why We Need Your Support
Replacing play equipment is a significant investment, and while we are actively seeking grant funding and support from other sources, community contributions will play a vital role in helping us achieve our goal.
Every donation, large or small, will bring us one step closer to delivering:
- Modern and engaging play equipment
- Safe and accessible facilities for local children
- Improved recreational opportunities for families
- A lasting community asset for Thornton
- A Community Project for Everyone
This project is about more than just new swings and climbing frames. It is about investing in the wellbeing of our children, encouraging outdoor play and creating a park that the whole community can be proud of.
We know how much Thornton residents care about their community, and we are hoping that once again people will come together to support a project that will make a real difference.
